You Have Questions, We’ve Got Answers

We know that making decisions about your pet’s surgical or dental care can involve many questions. At SurgiPet, transparency and trust are core to our operation. Below, you’ll find answers to the most common questions we receive. If you need additional information, our team is just a call away and is happy to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are you able to offer affordable care?

Because our services are limited to dentistry and surgery, our operating costs are significantly lower than those of a full-service veterinary hospital. This allows us to offer expert-level care at a more accessible price, without compromising quality.

Does low cost mean low quality?

Absolutely not. Every member of our team is selected for their exceptional clinical skills and deep compassion for animals. Specializing only in surgery and dentistry allows us to focus our training, tools, and time on delivering high-quality outcomes at a lower cost.

Do you offer payment plans?

We do not offer payment plans but accept cash, all major credit cards, and CareCredit. If you’re seeking financial support, we recommend starting a social media fundraiser. Donors can make payments directly to your pet’s account by calling our office.

What if my pet has an emergency after hours?

SurgiPet does not offer after-hours or weekend care. If your pet experiences an emergency outside our business hours, please contact your nearest emergency or overnight veterinary facility.

Do you work with rescue organizations?

Yes! We proudly work with 501(c)(3) rescue organizations. Please reach out to our office for more information about services and rates for qualified rescues.

Will you call me during my pet’s procedure?

Typically, no. All procedural details and expectations will be discussed thoroughly with you beforehand. However, if an unexpected or serious condition arises that requires your approval, we will attempt to contact you. It is extremely important that you are reachable by phone on the day of your pet’s procedure.

Why do I need to drop off my pet so early?

Pets must be dropped off between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM. Surgeries and dental procedures begin promptly at 8:00 AM. Early drop-off allows our medical team to assess your pet, calculate medications, and place IV catheters. Discharge times vary, as each pet must be fully awake and mobile before going home. All pets are typically discharged by 2:00 PM.

What if I can’t pick up my pet by 2 PM?

We do not offer overnight boarding. If you are late for pickup, a late fee of $25 per half hour will apply. Please make arrangements for someone else to pick up your pet if needed.

What vaccinations are required?

Per state law, all pets must be current on a rabies vaccination. We also strongly recommend that your pet be vaccinated for DHPP and Bordetella and tested annually for heartworms. Your primary care veterinarian should provide these services before your visit with us.
